Chris McDavid
Vice President and General Counsel, Legal, Contracts & Compliance
Chris McDavid is vice president and general counsel for Raytheon, a business of RTX and leads the Legal, Contracts & Compliance organization, comprised of a team of attorneys, contracts professionals and global trade, operations and ethics and compliance specialists. McDavid oversees and provides leadership and guidance on all legal matters, including contracts, international trade compliance, intellectual property, labor and employment, and litigation.
Prior to his current role, McDavid was vice president and general counsel at Raytheon Intelligence & Space, a former business unit. Before that, he was the corporate vice president of Global Ethics & Compliance (GEC) and Chief Compliance Officer (CCO), where he led the global ethics and compliance program, focusing on internal ethics performance, anti-corruption and government regulatory compliance.
Before the 2020 merger of Raytheon Company and United Technologies, McDavid was the United Technologies corporate vice president of GEC and CCO, and held key legal positions within Pratt & Whitney, including vice president and general counsel for the Military Engines business, vice president and counsel for Operations and vice president and general counsel of Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne. Prior to UTC, McDavid worked for several large international law firms.
McDavid served in the U.S. Air Force as a systems acquisition officer and contracts business manager for the Satellite and Launch Control Systems Program Office, Space and Missile Systems Center, in El Segundo, California. He previously served as the chairman of the board of trustees for the Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs and is currently on the board of directors of the Connecticut Red Cross and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford.
McDavid holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from the U.S. Air Force Academy and a juris doctor from Loyola Law School.
