President, Naval Power

Barbara Borgonovi is president of Naval Power at Raytheon, a business of RTX that specializes in integrated air and missile defense, advanced sensors, space systems, hypersonics and effectors. Raytheon’s Naval Power strategic business unit provides the U.S. and its global allies with some of the industry’s marquee systems in the maritime domain, including the SM-2 and SM-6 missiles, SM-3 interceptor, Tomahawk Cruise Missile, the SPY-6 family of radars and air systems, such as the AIM-9X SIDEWINDER and Next Gen Jammer. 

Prior to this role, Borgonovi led Corporate Strategy & Development for RTX, where she was responsible for the company’s strategic initiatives and for assessing merger, acquisition and divestiture opportunities to drive overall enterprise growth and profitability. 

Borgonovi joined the company in 2001 and has held positions in program management, supply chain, operations management and quality engineering. She was president of Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance Systems for Raytheon Intelligence & Space. Prior to that role, she was vice president of Integrated Communication Systems in the company’s Space and Airborne Systems unit, where she previously served as vice president of Operations and as director of Program Operations for the Electronic Warfare Systems mission area. 

Borgonovi is a member of the University of Arizona College of Engineering’s Dean’s Advisory Board. She holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and a master’s degree in business administration from Pepperdine University.
